Cengiz Taş graduated from the Industrial Engineering Department of Boğaziçi University in 1989. He began his professional career the same year at Kordsa as an Investment Planning Engineer.

In 1991, he joined Ak-Al Tekstil Sanayii A.Ş., an Akkök Holding company, as a Budget Specialist. He subsequently held the positions of Budget Supervisor, Budget Manager, Production Coordinator, and Deputy General Manager for Planning at the same company. Between 2004 and 2011, he served as General Manager of Ak-Al Tekstil Sanayii A.Ş.

From 2011 to 2024, Cengiz Taş served as General Manager of Aksa Akrilik. As of 2024, he continues his role as Group President for Chemicals and Advanced Materials at Akkök Holding.

As a Member of the Board of Directors of Akkök Holding, Cengiz Taş also serves on the Boards of Directors of various Akkök Group companies.

He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Textile Industry Employers’ Association.
