Born in Istanbul in 1966, H. Çağatay Özdoğru holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Istanbul Technical University and a Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering from George Washington University. He launched his career in the technology and telecommunications sectors, later serving as Vice President for the Middle East and Africa at Global One (a France Telecom Group company). Following this role, he headed the Information and Telecommunications Investments division at Sabancı Holding.
Özdoğru joined ESAS in 2005 as an Executive Board Member and has served as the ESAS Group CEO since 2010. In this capacity, he oversees all business lines and investment strategies, spanning real estate, private equity, asset management, venture capital, and social investment. Playing a pivotal role in shaping ESAS’s private equity investments both in Turkey and internationally, Özdoğru has successfully steered the investment and exit processes for numerous portfolio companies, including UN Ro-Ro, Mars Cinema Group, Mars Athletic Club, and Peyman.
Alongside his duties as Board Member and Group CEO at ESAS, he sits on the boards of several portfolio companies, including ESAS Real Estate and Pegasus Airlines. Since 2025, he has held the positions of Vice Chairman of the Executive Board at the Koç University–ESAS Alternative Investments Center and Board Member of the Turkish Basketball Federation. His past leadership roles include Chairman of the DEİK Turkey–France Business Council, Board Member of TÜSİAD, Chairman of the Turkey–Sweden and Turkey–Croatia Business Councils, and Board Member of both the Turkish Informatics Foundation and TÜBİSAD.
In 2016, he was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award by George Washington University.
